5-Ingredient Banana Oat Pancakes (Toddler & Baby Approved)

These pancakes have been on our breakfast table more times than I can count. They’re soft, naturally sweet, and made with just 5 ingredients — no flour, no sugar, no fuss.

Perfect for baby-led weaning, toddler breakfasts, or honestly any mom who needs something fast and wholesome on the table.

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or butter (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Mash bananas well in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Add eggs and mix until combined.
  3. Stir in oats and cinnamon.
  4. Let the batter rest for 2 minutes — the oats will absorb the moisture.
  5. Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium-low heat.
  6. Drop small spoonfuls of batter into the pan.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form, then flip.
  8. Cook another 1-2 minutes until golden.

Tips:

  • The riper the banana, the sweeter the pancake
  • Make mini versions for baby-led weaning (easier for little hands to grip)
  • Freeze leftovers and reheat in the toaster — weekday breakfast sorted
  • Top with a thin layer of nut butter, sliced banana, or a drizzle of honey (for kids over 1)

No syrup needed — these are naturally sweet and totally delicious.
